Year 5 and 6 had a brilliant time on Thursday 19th May, when they had their Enrichment Day.
The theme was ‘space’, as our school is currently carrying out a scientific experiment using rocket seeds that Tim Peake took with him to space! The day allowed the children to take part in many scientific activities, including building water rockets; creating an astronaut skills test and making their own space toothpaste! The Year 6s had a great time making rockets with Mr Miles who came from Burnham Grammar School to help us, and Year 5 learnt a lot from ‘Boffin Ollie’, who came to work with them on a space workshop. In fact, Boffin Ollie entertained the whole of Upper Key Stage 2, when he showed us how to set money on fire without burning it – not to be tried at home! We learnt a lot and were able to apply the scientific and mathematical knowledge that we have gained throughout the year. Please click here for photos.
