Up bright and early for a 7:10 breakfast slot, we got dressed and headed down for the start of our first full day. We began our activities at around 8:30 and split off into our groups. Activities today included: Tunnel Trail, Giant Swing, Zipwire, Sensory Trail and Problem Solving. Tunnel Trail involved crawling through a series of underground tunnels to solve problems and complete tasks set by the instructors. Problem Solving allowed us to work in our teams to find solutions to a variety of puzzles given to us by the PGL staff including riddles, string puzzles and many more. The sensory trail was particularly challenging, as we had to make our way through the forest without the ability to see thanks to some blackout goggles, guided through only by the voices and directions of staff and instructors. The Giant Swing and Zipwire were our first equipment activities and although they provided a big challenge, many people overcame their fears to have a go and try these exciting challenges. After dinner, we had our evening activity, this time entitled 'Robot Wars'. We broke up into four groups to create the best robot that we could from cardboard and describe what functions it had. It was a close competition and left us with four very interesting designs. Time for bed now though, all showered and tidied, ready for another early start tomorrow.
