This week in our science club we made Oobleck! If you're wondering what that is, it's a non-Newtonian fluid (it acts like a liquid when being poured, but like a solid when a force is acting on it.) All we did was take one and a half cups of corn flour as well as water and poured into a bowl. We were looking for a glue-like consistency. Some of us had to add half a cup more of flour to get it just right! It was so much fun because when you grabbed a handful and let go it oozed out of your hands. Our science club challenges YOU to try this experiment at home! If you want to make it even more interesting add some food colouring!
All you need is corn flour and food colouring and the food colouring is optional.
Recipe:
- 1 cup water
- 1.5-2 cups corn flour
- a few drops of food colouring of your choice
