We are delighted to inform you that the school has been successful in securing a grant from the Big Lottery Fund Awards for All
With the funding we will transform the school allotment into an area which will be accessible to all and will be specifically designed for the children to work in, with raised beds, wide paths and a brand new potting shed. Additionally, we will be setting up a wildlife area in the piece of ground next to the allotment to provide a calm and tranquil area for the children and for all sorts of creatures to set up home in a managed environment with wildflowers and grasses.
We are currently in the process of appointing a contractor to do the work, and we were lucky enough to have a visit from a team of volunteers from Heathrow who cleared the area of all the weeds and old growth, leaving it completely ready for our contractors to come in and start work. They were a brilliant team, and they worked so hard giving our project the very best start that we could have hoped for. Many thanks to Trevor Waldock and his team and to Sonny Sidhu, our Chair of Trustees, for organising the day.
A big thank you also to our Premises Manager for all of her hard work.
