On Tuesday 27th November 2018, 15 children took part in Slough Sport Network’s Boccia tournament. Over 30 teams competed from all over Slough in the hope of making it through to the National competition held next year.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport which comprises of 3 people per team and the aim is to roll or throw their coloured balls nearest to the white ball. All 5 teams have been practising really hard and this paid off today with one of the teams reaching the finals and winning the competition! Harry, Blake and Harvey came 1st out of 30 teams and will be representing Slough in the National competition!
All teams played 3 games in the heats and there were all fantastic! Jaden, Umber and Evan narrowly missed out on a place in the quarter finals by 1 point and the final was one of the closest they have seen, needing the tape measure to come out to get the results!!
Miss Harry, Mrs Chennareddy, Mr Otero, Mrs Hood and Mrs Moore were so proud of all the children and how they behaved today they all thoroughly deserve their medals which they will receive in Fridays assembly!!
