Y4 Swanage trip Wednesday 16th March 2016
It was a wonderful Wednesday in a sunny and windswept Swanage. We met Vikings, Victorians coming to town to restore their health and George Burt, who was known as “the King of Swanage”. After a fascinating historical tour of the town, where we learned about the vital industries and characters from the towns past, we settled down to a lunch on the beach. The afternoon challenged us with pirate-themed team building activities where we had to collect dubloons to buy materials to protect an egg that was to be dropped from a window. Only one survived the drop thanks to its well-planned protective casing. We ended the night with a campfire and sing-along that may go down in the history books as one of the finest open-air performances of song and joke-telling for some time to come.
We’re all looking forward to our trip to Corfe Castle on Thursday and the spectacular hike back!
