Admission to Slough Schools

In Slough your child will attend an infant/primary school between the ages of four or five and eleven. Children transfer to secondary school when they are 11.
You can now apply for your child’s infant/primary and secondary school place online instead of completing a paper form.
The benefits of applying online are:
- it is quick and easy to use
- you can apply from home 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Or use the library, internet café, some schools may make their ITC suite available to you
- there is no risk that your application will be lost in the post
- you will receive email confirmation that your application has been received
- you can change your application up to midnight on the closing date
- the result of your application will be available online later in the year
Applying for an infant or primary school place for reception year entry
From 1 December 2017 (date TBC), you can apply online for a reception year place for an infant or primary school for Sept 2018 entry, so long as:
- you live in Slough and
- your child will reach the age of five between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019
You can apply or make changes online until the closing date of midnight on date TBC.

What will parents have to do?
Parents will be able to apply for up to three schools on the CAF and place the schools in the order they prefer. This can include schools in other Local Authorities. Full details about Slough schools are available in the Primary Admissions booklet. The CAF must be returned to the Admissions Team at Slough Borough Council, Town Hall, Bath Road, Slough, SL1 3UQ.
Applications must not be returned to schools.
For applications during the school year from years one to six there are no closing dates. These applications will be considered as soon as they arrive.
What if I have already completed an application form provided by the school?
All parents who wish their child to be considered for a place in any year group will need to complete a fresh application form.
Forms will be sent to all parents who have children on waiting lists at Slough schools. Completed forms must be returned to the Admissions Team (address above). It will be assumed that parents who do not complete and return a form no longer require a place and their child will be taken off the waiting list.
What happens next?
Your application will be considered and you will receive a letter from Slough Borough Council about the outcome.
If there are more applications than places available we will have applied the admissions criteria for the schools requested to decide which applicants have priority for a place.
