Our curriculum is relevant and exciting and provides challenge and enrichment for all our pupils. For all children, and particularly for more able and talented pupils, we stretch imaginations and engage them in tasks that stimulate creative thought, encourage problem solving and asking ‘what if…’ questions. Sometimes we are able to offer children additional sessions working in gifted and talented groups, on different work, inside and outside the classroom.
We have special events throughout the year, such as our Enrichment Days, where children get to work outside of the classroom or with other teachers. These events allow children to experience more abstract concepts and apply their learning to new situations.
Our wide range of after school clubs can allow children to develop their talents further.
Sometimes we receive information about special events taking place within the community and Local Authority. We will pass this information on to parents so that advantage can be taken of these additional opportunities.
Please take a look in the ‘News’ section of our website, under parent workshops, for ideas and suggestions of things you can do to support your child.
You can read our ‘able and talented’ policy in the policies section of the website.
If you think that your child may have a special interest or talent, please talk to their class teacher.
