Safeguarding at Cippenham School.

All staff at Cippenham School regard the safety and well-being of the pupils as paramount.  As a school we ensure that the children feel safe and secure whilst in our care and know that there is somebody that will listen and understand.

Safeguarding is what we do for all children and young people whilst in our care.  Child Protection is what we do for children who have been harmed or are at significant risk of being harmed.  Typically the Child Protection Policy will refer to quite clear procedures, whilst the Safeguarding Policy will be broader.  Both these policies can be found in the Policy section of the web site.

We work closely with parents, the Local Authority and other professionals to maintain the children’s safety.  All adults at Cippenham School recognise that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, irrespective of the role they undertake or whether their role has direct contact or responsibility for children or not.  This means that all staff are trained in accordance with regulation and know the procedures that are in place to safeguard each child.  In addition to this, we have a number of staff with designated safeguarding responsibilities.

Danielle Thornton is the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Nina Greenstone is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
