You may recognise the lovely Yasmin (speech and language therapist SYMBOL), who works with us at CPS. She has very kindly made a video modelling some games to support language development. This weeks focus is Describing words. There is a PDF that can be downloaded to accompany the video.

Overview

We want every child to participate as fully as possible in the activities of everyday life, become as independent as possible, and interact with others and the world around them.

Some children may find they have difficulties understanding and using language to communicate . This could be due to difficulties with their speech sounds,  expressive language (being able to put thoughts into words or sentences) or receptive language skills (the ability to understand information).

We have worked closely with a speech and language therapist and have attached different information sheets that develop and support these skills, from supporting speech sound production to understanding irregular past tense.
